With around 30 games of the NHL’s regular-season going thru, nine franchises have already scored 100 goals. Three belong to the Eastern Division and the other six to the Western.
But from the nine teams, only three overcame the number of 110 goals in the year. Minnesota Wild, Colorado Avalanche, and Vegas Golden Knights, curiously all from the West.
The team has the best record in the league between the other two ahead, with 21 wins and 42 points, leading the Pacific Division. Beyond the better league offense, the best record from the Conference is a result of the great retrospect at home and away.
The numbers are very close. Vegas has 10 wins at T-Mobile Arena and 11 playing far from home. This retrospect can be a key for repeating the first year on NHL, in 2017-18, when they won the Division and Conference title.
Vegas comes from wight wins and two losses in the last ten opportunities, and scored 120 goals in all the 33 games played (3,63 per game) – league record, and comes from 10 straight games scoring three or more. Jonathan Marchessault led with 16 goals in 28 opportunities.
But on the other hand, the team also needs more attention on their defense since the Golden Knights have 101 goals against, resulting in the second-worst from the Pacific. The next challenge is on Friday, December 31st, against Anaheim Ducks.
Second-better offense from the league, Colorado has 115 goals for in the season, but in only 27 games played. That’s why they are averaging the highest number of goals per game, with 4,25.
Because of many postponed matches, the Avalanche has three fewer matches than the first-placed in Central Division, Minnesota Wild. If they win at least two of these challenges, they can already tie the record from the rival with 40 points.
Five players have ten or more goals on the regular season but no one figure among the 10 league strikers. Mikko Rantanen, Cale Makar, Andre Burakovsky, Nazem Kadri, and Valeri Nichushkin have 14, 13, 12, 11, and 10 goals, respectively. Kadri also stands out in assists, with 27 (second league record).
The next game is predicted only for January 2nd when Colorado will face the Ducks.
The last one in this list, Minnesota, led the Central Division, as we said before, with 40 points and very Strong at home, where they have only two losses.
Kirill Kaprizov, with 36 points (12 goals and 24 assists), led the franchise. The next game is the Winter Classic, on New Year’s Day, against St. Louis Blues, at Target field. There are still no odds at Bovada for the games mentioned, but they will soon be available.
