He also made two touchdown passes and one interception.
Last season he also had incredible stats, with 4740 passing yards (second best), 66,3% completion pass percentage (544 attempts and 390 completions), and 38 passing touchdowns. Some of the numbers were his career record.
The biggest surprise among the other renowned stars to be the MVP, the Buffalo Bills has in their quarterback, Josh Allen, a great expectation for a good season, just like last year, with 13 wins and three losses.
As for Mahomes, he made a good preseason this year, and an incredible last regular season, with 4544 passing yards, 69% completion pass percentage, in 572 attempts and 396 completions, 37 touchdown passes, and 10 interceptions. If he repeats the good plays, he has good chances to shine again.
The current MVP of NFL regular season had trouble preseason, being involved in many speculations to leave the Green Bay Packers. Even so, he stayed in the franchise.
Everything could influence his preseason, which was not that good. But at the games that matter, we can expect much more from him. Last season Rodgers averaged 4299 passing yards, 70% completion pass percentage, with 526 attempts and 372 completions, 48 passing touchdowns (season record), and 13 interceptions.
