More and more closed from the American League East, the Tampa Bay Rays supporter has many reasons to celebrate. The team overcame the Houston Astros and now has the most efficient offense among the other 29 teams at the MLB regular season.
The Rays has already overcome the number of runs scored, with 757 runs in 140 games, resulting in 5,4 per game, gaining strength at the end of the regular season.
Six players noted more than 50 runs in the roster: Mike Zunino and Yandy Diaz, with 55, Joey Wendle (63), Austin Meadows (72), and Brandon Lowe, with 85 and Randy Arozarena, which are very close and led the team at this stats. Lowe is the one with more Home Runs, with 33 in 131 matches.
In 2019, the last regular season, the New York Yankees led the league in runs scored and had 943, averaging 5,82 per game. So if Tampa is thinking about this record, they will have to improve their number. On the other hand, the team is too close to the 769 runs scored two years ago.
In the same conference, other two franchises have more than 700 runs: Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays. With the run for the Wild Card spot at first place, Boston has 718 runs scored in 142 matches, resulting in 5,05 per game, led by Rafael Devers, with 86 runs, and J. D. Martinez, with 84.
While the Blue Jays, led by the star Vladimir Guerrero, has 704 runs scored (5,1 per game). Three players from the Canadiens have 43,8% of the runs from the team. Guerrero has 106, Bo Bichette has 104, and Marcus Semien 99.
Until last month Houston Astros had the highest number of runs scored in the league. Despite bad results in the past few matches, they have 731 runs in 139 opportunities (5,31 per game). Houston is very close to the American League West title and the playoffs even with those results.
On the other side, only one team overcame 700 runs scored this year, and another one must probably do it still this week. Looking for different goals, but both with a good offense, Los Angeles Dodgers is running for the NL West title but will undoubtedly go to the Wild Card, and Cincinnati Reds is far from the Division title runs for the other Wild Card spot.
LA has 709 runs in 141 matches (5,02 per game), and the Reds has 693 in the same number of matches (resulting in 4,91).
