Last Tuesday, the MGM Resorts Summer League finished with a 100-67 win at the championship game, from Sacramento Kings against Boston Celtics in Las Vegas. The Summer League title is the second for Sacramento, which previously won the tournament in 2014.

Led by the point-guard nine pick from the Draft, Davion Mitchell, the Kings had five wins in the tournament, averaging 89 points per game, 39 rebounds per game, and 17 assists.

In those games, we could see some rookies playing for their teams for the first time and getting surprised with other ones. The first-round picks from the 2021 Draft and took the scene.

Summer League First and Second team

Davion Mitchell, from the Kings, and Cam Thomas, from Brooklyn Nets was named Summer League co-MVPs. A panel of media selected the All-Summer League First and Second team. That’s why the First Team has seven players.

Despite the MVPs, the All-Summer League First Team includes Jalen Johnson, Atlanta Hawks, Trey Murphy III, New Orleans Pelicans, Payton Pritchard, Boston Celtics, Jalen Smith, from Phoenix Suns, and Obi Toppin, from New York Knicks.

The Second Team had the first pick in the 2021 Draft, Cade Cunningham, from Detroit Pistons, the number two pick, Jalen Green of the Houston Rockets, Paul Reed from Philadelphia 76ers, Patrick Williams from Chicago Bulls, and Luke Garza, also from the Pistons.

But after the Summer League, what can the players add to the NBA teams in the next season? Take a look below.

Cam Thomas

The co-MVP was the top-scored of the Summer League, with 27 PPG. The 27 pick will join the stars Kevin Durant, James Harden, Kyrie Irving, Blake Griffin, and DeAndre Jordan. Will he have space and some minutes to play and show his ability?

Davion Mitchell

The other co-MVP and nine pick, Davion had 10,8 points per game and 5,8 assists. In Sacramento, he will have enough space to play, joining the other point guard De’Aron Fox.

Cade Cunningham

Before the Summer League start, the eyes were all on him. In three games, he averaged 18,7 PPG, 4,3 three-point field goals made, and 5,7 assists. Let’s wait and see what we can do as a starter in Detroit.

Jalen Green

The second pick played three matches and had good numbers, with 20,3 points, 3,3 3PM and 4,3 assists. He probably can play beside John Wall at Houston, showing why we made 18,7 points per game on G-League last year.

According to Bovada, Cade Cunningham is the favorite to win the Rookie Of the Year at the next NBA season, with +250 odds. He is followed by Jalen Green, with +300 odds.
