Rosenborg vs Maribor for the Champions League qualification match on Tuesday at Lerkendal Stadium.
After a quiet first half in the first leg, things exploded with a lot of life in the second 45 minutes, and they indeed defined the team who will be in for the next round. Rosenborg, who played away this match, found the back of the net three times to make their victory unquestionable.
Although Maribor scored a goal with aggregate reading 1-3 in favour of the Norwegians, also with 3 goals away from home, things are looking complicated for Maribor to have any chance.
Rosenborg has considerably increased its game after the slow start of the season and are now 5th in Eliteserien and doing well in Europe.
They eliminated Linfield in the first round of the Champions League 6-0 on aggregate and beat BATE after losing the first leg in Belarus.
Maribor have prioritized Europe over the Slovenian League but are paying their price. They got their first win of the season only in the fifth round. Although they remain the favourites to win the national championship.
The Slovenian champions continue to welcome Scandinavian opponents in this year’s qualifications. They eliminated Valur (5-0 cumulative) and AIK after scoring in extra time to ensure well-deserved progress in away goal rule. However, the situation is now much worse.
We saw four goals in the first match, and I think we are waiting for another show, but with favouritism for Rosenborg. Both RBK and Maribor are attacking teams that I don’t expect to change soon.
Rosenborg is not limited to defending the lead, even playing at home with this advantage, and Maribor will give everything they have. Despite believing that the game has few goals, I believe Rosenborg is the most favourite.
My bet is 1 -0,25 AH.
