Rosenborg vs BATE for the Champions League qualification match on Wednesday at Lerkendal Stadium.
The second leg of Champions League Qualifying Round 2 with an exciting match between Rosenborg and BATE that remains fully open after a 2-1 home win by BATE in the first round.
Today is the time for the Norwegians to play in their home stadium and in this game, they are looking to overcome the disadvantage they bring from the first game, and a 1-0 victory is enough for the team to pass to the next phase of the competition.
Rosenborg has been having a miserable time at home, currently occupying a position in the middle of the table, but in recent times the team has improved a lot and achieved some excellent results.
In the Champions League Rosenborg comes here after passing Linfield without any difficulty with an aggregate score of 6-0. Now the downfall is BATE, a team with experience on these stages and always a very complicated team to beat.
In the first round Rosenborg lost 2-1 and now at home have a good chance of getting through the qualifying round.
As a visitor, we have BATE, who in turn comes to this stage after eliminating Piast, Polish champions, after a 2-1 away win that earned them a place in this knockout round. Now there’s Rosenborg to face who in my opinion is a little above Piast but not much. They are two strong teams mainly at home but within reach of BATE.
Internally, BATE has been having a regular season, staying second just behind Brest, which has been having a great time. This BATE is always a very consistent team that usually makes better performances in these complicated games like tonight.
I see Rosenborg as a favourite because of the fact that they have to win, but it doesn’t seem fair to me at this 1.60 odd for the Norwegians. On the other side, we have a very experienced team that is always hard to beat thanks to its defensive consistency.
Bringing a result to defend and giving control to the opponent as the team likes, I believe that they can make the game very complicated for Rosenborg, which leads me to go +1.
