Rangers vs Midtjylland for the Europa League qualification match on Thursday at Ibrox Stadium.
Next Thursday, 15th August 2019, Rangers and Midtjylland face each other for a UEFA Europa League Qualifying match. The match has kick-off at 19:45 at Ibrox Stadium (Glasgow).
Rangers certainly proved their worth in the first game, which ended 4-2 in their favour. Four different players wrote their names on Steven Gerrard’s team goal sheet, which took just seven goal attempts during the ninety minutes.
The visitors made five shots on target, but were far from clinical in those shots and managed to score twice. The defeat also caused the run of four unbeaten Midtjylland games to end.
Although the Danish have recovered from their defeat with a 2-0 win over Horsens shortly after that, they certainly need to say that the Rangers are a much harder team to beat, especially in their own stadium.
Clashes between the two teams
Last week’s first round of the tie is the only meeting between the two teams.
The home team is unbeaten in their last ten home matches, in all competitions, and has been winning very convincing in their confrontations so far. The previous clash here saw them score with a very resounding 6-1 victory over Hibernian, with Jermain Defoe scoring half the goals on his own.
Also, Midtjylland has a lot of ground to make up for because of the four goals they conceded. Given that the Rangers have also scored fourteen goals from their last three home matches alone, Midtjylland’s victory at this stadium is by no means in the cards.
However, the away team has been an offensive presence in all recent clashes and has scored seven goals in the last five games, would say the market over 2.5 goals is precious.
