Operario Ferroviario vs Coritiba for the Brazilian Serie B championship match on Friday at Germano Krüger Stadium.
It will be the third state duel of Operário-PR, which makes its first season of the Second Division of Brasileirão after having played Series C in 2018 in the last five matches. The club was beaten by Paraná, in the capital, by 1-0, and beat Londrina, by 2-0, in Ponta Grossa.
That last clash started a positive sequence, which had a new home success against CRB 2-1, and a 1-1 draw away against São Bento on Tuesday, July 23rd, for the eleventh round of the Segundona.
With this, Operário-PR reached 14 points (four wins, two draws and five losses), occupying the twelfth position in the ranking table of the Brazilian Serie B Championship. The difference for Londrina, which closes the zone leading to Series A in fourth place is six points. The advantage over São Bento, seventeenth placed, which opens the relegation zone, is five points.
The campaign as hosts, however, has much better numbers. Operario is the third-best hosts of Serie B of Brasileirão. Of the 18 points they played at Germano Krugger, they won 13 having scored seven goals and conceded four.
Coritiba managed to relieve the pressure that had been suffering with two wins in a row at home. They scored 2-1 at São Bento and then made it 2-0 at Vila Nova. It reached 18 points rising to sixth place and only two points below Z4.
The performance as a visitor, however, is significantly lower. The team is only in the twelfth place in the Brazilian Championship Series B ranking that only takes into account the results that teams get outside their domains. Of the 15 points they played in column two, they won five (one win, two draws and two defeats), scoring four goals.
The good performance of Operário-PR in their domains and the shyness of Coritiba as a visitor make the prediction in the success of the hosts the best guess for the meeting this Friday for the twelfth round of the Brazilian Championship Series B.
