Norway vs Romania, Friday’s match for the qualifying round, Group F, for the EURO 2020 Qualifiers.
Norway against Romania, for the match of the Euro 2020 qualifiers on Friday. Norway really needs a win after being defeated by Spain and only having managed to draw at home to Sweden in their first two qualifying matches.
It’s been 16 years since Norway and Romania last met, and that match was also one of the qualifiers for the European Championship and ended with a 1-ball draw.
En route to the Euro 2020 qualifiers on Friday, both teams proved difficult to beat, losing only one of their last six matches, so I expect a tight, tense and competitive ninety minutes.
Norway set a two-goal lead in their last home qualifier against Sweden in March thanks to goals from Johnsen and King but visitors began their return to seventy minutes when Claesson made it 2-1. An own goal by Nordtveit seemed to have given Sweden the equalizer four minutes from final time, but the visitors scored again in the added time to make it 3-2. Surprisingly, with the final attack of the match, Norway managed to tie with Kamara and the match ended 3-3.
Romania got three points at home, in Group F beating the Faroe Islands in their last round, where they led 3-1. Another goal in the 66th minute finished the scoring and saw Romania claim a comfortable 4-1 win.
Each of the four previous meetings between these two countries produced less than 2.5 goals, and two of those four games ended 1-1. However, more than 2.5 goals have been scored in the last two games of both countries and both have lost only one of the last six international matches, so the most predictable result is a draw with goals, but certainly there will be goals
Both teams are playing well and have only lost one of the last six international matches, so I think it could be a game with goals.
With a smaller stake, I will risk +2.5 goals.
