NFL Playoffs: Five franchises are clinched after last week

Get the latest updates on Betarena!

The 16th week of the National Football League regular season finished, and the other five teams clinched a spot in the NFL playoffs. Green Bay Packers were the first to do so, and now Kansas City Chiefs, Dallas Cowboys, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Los Angeles Rams, and Arizona Cardinals will join.

Tampa is on this list because they showed their favorite in the last game against the Panthers and won by 32 – 6. According to StatMuse, Tom Brady will play in his 46th playoff game. That’s more than 22 NFL franchises.

On the other hand, the other main favorite in the previous week, Los Angeles Chargers, lost for the underdog Houston Texans by 41 – 29 and got more far from the postseason.

The Eagles and Packers didn’t disappoint and won their challenges at home as notable favorites. Green Bay defeated the Browns in a tight game by 24 – 22. Philadelphia had no difficulty beating the Giants, winning by 34 – 10, and still can think in the Wild Card.

Despite a 22 – 16 loss at home against Indianapolis, the Cardinals clinched a spot on the offs, as we said before. In the same situation as LA Chargers, Las Vegas Raiders defeated Denver by 17 – 13 and keep dreaming with a spot in the Wild Card.

17th week

This week the NFL won’t have the game on Thursday Night Football. Fifteen will happen on Sunday and the other on Monday. On Bovada, New England, and Buffalo are the main favorites for their challenge.

The Patriots have -110 odds to defeat Jacksonville Jaguars by 16 points and will root for the Bills to lose to Atlanta Falcons to still have chances to win the Division.

But it won’t be easy since Buffalo has -110 odds to beat the Falcons by more than 14 points. If they win and the Pats lose the game, which would be a surprise, Buffalo clinch the AFC East title.

Tamba Bay and San Franciso are notable favorites to win their games. Buccaneers will face the Jets and have -115 odds of leaving New York with a win by 14 points or more. If the Buccs do so, and the Packers lose their challenge, Tampa Bay will have chances to be on bye in the first NFL playoffs’ week.

Despite the third place on NFC West, the 49ers still have chances to go to the Wild Card and get closer if they win the match against Houston Texans. On Bovada, San Francisco has -110 odds to win by 13 points or even more. But on the other hand, if they fall for the rival, the dream is almost over.

On the levelheaded games, it’s an early playoff. On the tighter Division’s challenge, Browns is the favorite to defeat Pittsburgh Steelers, with -175 odds. It’s win or go home.

Already clinched, the Rams will face the Ravens, looking for the NFC West title, and have -185 odds to win, while Baltimore needs to win to have still chances for going to the postseason.
