Mallorca vs Deportivo La Coruña, Sunday’s match for the La Liga 2 Playoff at the Son Moix Stadium, in Palma, Balearic Islands, Spain.
Mallorca vs Deportivo La Coruña- second leg of the Spanish playoff.
The hosts can turn around after the first-leg loss, although it is a difficult task.
After an encouraging start in which they put the back foot for a good 10-15 minutes, things quickly fell to Mallorca, who first conceded a goal and then went on to play with one less man shortly before half-time.
Once reduced to ten, the goal of the men of Vicente Moreno was to contain and not to fall even more, although the difference increased when it suffered to ten minutes of the end. It’s far from over, though Sunday’s hosts have come up against a difficult fight.
Despite being under pressure early in the game, Depor did what he needed in the first match. As in the semi-finals, La Coruna came out with a two-goal lead. Most importantly, they avoided conceding a goal off.
Mallorca, who finished the regular season with the second-best record at home, winning 15, drawing four and losing only two of their 21 matches at Iberostar Stadium, there is no certainty in their own field, and they will want to cancel the deficit, although Malaga probably thought the same before Depor got the advantage in the semifinals.
With Majorca, who has an average of 1.71 goals, can threaten at home, but is against the side that is known to frustrate the teams away from home. Depor, as they did in the semi-finals, will be happy to sit down before looking at the attack. After all, they have a two-goal advantage and therefore have no reason to force the problem.
As it is the team that “needs” to win this game, Mallorca is obviously small in the betting, although it seems a bit too short. They are good at home, despite having against Depor, who lost just one of the last five away games and who did an excellent performance to beat the Malaga out (in similar circumstances) in the semi-finals.
Depor enters this game with an average of only 0.86 goals away from home this season (including the play-off), while the way they last held Malaga before reaching the break was very good.
It is a game of life or death for Mallorca that will have to make two goals to win the tie. Since the deposition will play in the counter attack waiting for the error, but I believe that there can be goals.
Bet: Over 1.5 goals.
