Haiti vs Bermuda, Sunday match for the CONCACAF Gold Cup, Group B, at the National Stadium of Costa Rica, in La Sabana Metropolitan Park, San José, Costa Rica.
In one of three Sunday matches for the first round of the group stage of the 2019 Gold Cup group B, play the teams of Haiti and of Bermuda.
The Haitian team enters the opening day of this new edition of the Gold Cup looking to improve their recent record in terms of their performance in this international competition of teams from the North and Central American continent.
The best record of the team is a triumph in the in the last year. The team has had positive benefits (like the arrival to the quarterfinals in 2015) but also has some less positive records, as happened in 2017, where the team did not even got the qualification for the competition itself.
As for the Bermuda team, this will be a historic participation in this competition, bearing in mind that the team representing the small country of the American continent will have its first time in history as a participant in the competition organized by CONCACAF.
Taking into account that they never had managed to achieve the qualification, which they only achieved after beating the Dominican Republic in March for 3 goals to 1, the team will thus have a very challenging match soon in this first phase of the competition.
Having fallen into group B, that is composed by Costa Rica, Haiti and Nicaragua and is probably the least strong team among all of them, they should not be very likely to qualify for the next phase.
I would consider the greater experience and even quality on the part of the national team of Haiti that, although not being a team of so much quality, it is at least more accustomed to play with better teams (something that does not happen with Bermuda).
Besides this being the Bermudan’s first participation, I can only predict here a relatively quiet victory by the Haitians, who should have no problem in beating their opponents.
