Guyana vs Panama, Saturday’s match for the CONCACAF Gold Cup, Group D, at the FirstEnergy Stadium, in Cleveland, Ohio, United States.
Despite suffering defeats against Uruguay and Colombia, Panama has recovered convincingly and clinched victory in the opening match against Trinidad and Tobago. Julio Dely Valdés’s team will try to clinch their second consecutive win against Guyana on Saturday at FirstEnergy Stadium for the second round of group matches in the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Guyana was thrashed by the USA in their opening match, conceding four goals and failed to score even a single consolation goal within ninety minutes. They only managed a shot at goal during the game and gave most of the possession to the Americans as well.
In comparison, the Los Canaleros have done much better in their opening match against Trinidad and Tobago by scoring three points at the end of the final whistle.
Panama will probably be at the top when the two teams meet on Saturday. They managed to win the win in their previous encounter and can be expected to continue their form in their upcoming matches.
His opponents, on the other hand, have struggled to find a win in any of the previous three games. They suffered a 3-1 loss to Haiti and a 1-0 loss to Bermuda before opening their campaign in the Gold Cup with 4-0 in the hands of the Americans.
It is fairly obvious from his previous results that Michael Johnson’s team have been weak both in attack and defense. They conceded a total of eight goals in their previous three games and managed to score just one. The team must reach the bottom of the pit if they cannot turn the table in the next game.
I believe that the Panama team will win the goalless victory of the opposing team.
