Greece vs Italy , Saturday’s match for the qualifying round, Group J, for the EURO 2020 Qualifiers, at the Olympiako Stadio Spyros Louis, Athens.
Everyone will be looking at the Olympiako Stadio Spyros Louis in Athens when Greece hosts Italy on the Euro 2020 match. Greece won a 2-0 win over Liechtenstein in their first qualifying match and a draw with Bosnia Herzegovina in Zenica.
Greece come from a defeat against Turkey in a friendly match last week but is very likely to make life difficult for Italy. Greece were third in the UEFA Nations League group after three wins and three defeats and are likely to find it difficult to get a place at Euro 2020 as teams such as Bosnia, Finland and Armenia are competing for second place as well.
At this point in the competition, the Greeks seek to stay in second place, as Italy must secure the first place after its pretty good start. The men of Angelos Anastasiadis have already shown that they want to do something in this competition and they are a hard nut to crack.
The Azzurra national team have made two good appearances against Finland and Liechtenstein in front of their supporters at the start of qualifying for Euro 2020, but in this match they will have a much tougher opponent in Saturday’s showdown against Greece.
Roberto Mancini and his men hope to achieve a good result this weekend, although it is a difficult trip, they want to increase their winning record. They enter this third qualifying game as favorites to have another win.
Mancini brought the team with an array of young players. Mancini’s Italy is a more balanced team, and this is due to the increase in talent in Series A in their attack, with the latest winner of the gold boot, Fabio Quagliarella, 36, who is expected to play in Athens.
The Azzurri have an impressive attack, with Federico Chiesa and Lorenzo Insigne supporting Quagliarella. Italy finally managed to maintain consistency with four wins and a draw in their last five games and currently have six points in the standings.
The Greeks are in a positive phase and it is usually a rather difficult selection at home. However, Italy is playing nice football and has enough quality to beat the Greeks.
