Feronikeli vs Slovan Bratislava for the Europa League Qualification match on Tuesday at Fadil Vokrri Stadium.
Feronikeli opened their season battling for a place in the Champions League. It had to go through the preliminary phase, which had it’s quadrangular held in Kosovo. They relied on being the hosts and surpassed Lincoln, of Gibraltar, by 1 to 0, and Santa Coloma, of Andorra, by 2 to 1.
However, they failed to overcome stage number two of the selection process for the continent’s most prestigious club competition. They even managed to go home advantageously in the duel with TNS Wales, drawing 2-2. However, they lost the second meeting for the Welsh 1-0 and were relegated to the Europa League.
In Slovakia, they were two goals behind Slovan Bratislava but managed to react and score a goal that improved their situation in an attempt to reverse the situation. They counted on the lack of precision in the rivals’ strikes for this. The hosts had 17 opportunities to shoot on goal against ten of the Kosovars, but the number of shots in the right direction, however, was equal.
While the Kosovo squad has not started its national championship, they may focus on preparing for Tuesday’s meeting, Slovan Bratislava had to take the field on Saturday, July 27, to fulfil their Fortuna League second-round commitment, the Second Division of the Slovakian Championship in its season 2019/2020.
Acting as the home team, they thrashed Michalovce 3-0. Having also won the debut match 3-1 away from home against Pohronie, so they are at the top of the standings. Dividing the leadership with Zilina and Streda, who also achieved 100% enjoyment in the early rounds.
The team also went through the Champions League. They fell in the second qualifying round against Stueska of Montenegro. After a 1-1 draw in both matches and goalless equality in the return match, which was held by Montenegrin hosting, the homeowners got the better of the penalty shootout.
Slovakia’s team showed technical superiority in the first confrontation, but the home factor makes this situation even and allows a risky prediction of Feronikeli’s success against Slovan Bratislava in search of more significant profit in the match by the third round return qualifying round for the 2019/2020 edition of the Europa League.
