FC Vaduz vs Eintracht Frankfurt for the Europa League qualifying match on Thursday at Rheinpark Stadium.
Playing away from home has been a struggle for Vaduz in qualifying; they failed to win in Iceland during the opening round while they found it challenging to face away against MOL Vidi during the previous round. However, things were different at the Rheinpark Stadion.
In fact, playing at home is what keeps Vaduz, who despite playing their national football in the Swiss leagues, comes from Liechtenstein, with a chance of competing in Europe’s secondary intercontinental competition.
Vaduz had a pleasant attacking performance, scoring twice and creating several opportunities against Breidablik and also against MOL Vidi, in front of their fans.
Thursday’s visitors are expected to win this game without much work, but if we look at their efforts in the previous round, it is not too difficult to think that there could be some complications along the way for the Germans.
In their own grounds, despite not being able to keep their opponents out of goal and winning by just one goal, Frankfurt was comfortable against Estonian side Flora, although they were not terrific away from home. They still dominated the match and were much better overall, but seemed particularly susceptible to counterattack.
In betting, “Over 2.5 goals and both teams score” seems like a viable option. Frankfurt showed their sharp teeth against Flora, scoring twice both at home and away, creating several opportunities, although they are not the only ones who showed the ability to create and score goals.
However, the strength of both teams, and the league where they play, German vs Switzerland, is quite different, as it was possible to see Eintracht’s course in the last season of the Europa League, where they reached the quarterfinals.
My bet is: 2 -1AH
