FC Copenhagen vs Riga FC for the Europa League qualification match on Thursday at Telia Parken Stadium.
Next Thursday, 22nd August 2019, FC Copenhagen and Riga FC face each other for a UEFA Europa League Qualifying match. The match has kick-off at 18:45 at Telia Parken Stadium (Copenhagen).
Despite the favourable odds, FC Copenhagen saw the Champions League exit the previous day against Serbian team Crvena Zvezda, who won the battle of nerves after aggregate results were drawn and the game was decided after extra time.
The home side, however, has already recovered from their grim defeat with a 1-0 win over Randers last weekend and hopes to start their Europa League campaign with no less than victory in their first confrontation with Riga FC.
Their opponents, on the other hand, managed to reach the final playoffs in the away goal rule after the team managed to score twice in the return clash to keep the score at 3-3.
However, luck is unlikely to play any role in the draw with the Danish Titans, who are most likely to place unilateral score in their favour by the end of their inaugural match.
Clashes between the two teams
The two teams have not met before.
The hosts are one of only two Superliga sides to remain undefeated and have scored twelve goals, four of which came from their home games.
It must also be said that Copenhagen has been one of the dominant sides in this place and have lost only once in their last ten games here.
Riga FC has won just twice in their last five games. Also, the team have not reached a win in their previous three European games, one of which saw them admit defeat, while the other two ended in a draw.
Copenhagen is also part of a much better national league. Thus, an easy win for the hosts is definitely imminent.
