Egypt vs South Africa, Saturday’s match for the Africa Cup of Nations, 1/8 final stage, at Cairo International Stadium, Cairo Governorate, Egypt.
Egypt
Egypt is keen to maintain their outstanding performance and keep the record fully victorious at this African Nations Cup in 2019 when they meet South Africa at the Cairo International Stadium on Saturday night. The Pharaoh is eyeing the team, and in this game played in his hometown, they are considered as the great favourite to win this encounter with the Bafana Bafana.
The hosts were the first to reach this stage calmly, the Egyptians want to build their path in the best possible way, and coach Javier Aguirre has the great star of the team that is nothing more than Mohamed Salah who is in a great moment of form and with high class.
The Egyptians will face this game as a final, as they want to move on and dream about winning this trophy.
South Africa
South Africa secured their place in the round of 16, despite having had two defeats in Group D, and noting that Ivory Coast and Morocco defeated the Bafana Bafana in the group stages, I do not believe they are capable of a positive result against Egypt at the Cairo International Stadium.
The South Africans have only one win and have scored just one goal in the competition so far, and therefore I think they are unlikely to be able to win against a team that plays in front of their fans.
Stuart Baxter’s men are not at their best in this AFCON and have in front of their attack, Lebo Mothiba, which also has not made a cup at his level.
Egypt has been evolving in its performance throughout this competition, and it is stronger than this South Africa. I am confident that the home team players will be successful in this game.
