The streak is still alive in Chicago. The Bulls won another game and reached their fifth straight victory on the NBA regular season.
The last one was against Atlanta Hawks at United Center, on Wednesday 29th, by 131 – 117. Chicago had an impressive start in the first and second quarter, playing at home, opening 21 points of advantage.
Atlanta tried to recover in the last 20 minutes, but the difference still kept around 20 points, and it was already too late for them. Trae Young, with 26 points and 11 assists and Clint Capela, adding 18 points and 15 boards, were Hawks’ top scores.
Seven players scored 10 or more points for Chicago – two coming from the bench. Nikola Vucevic had great numbers again: 16 points, 20 rebounds, and three steals in 33 minutes. According to Statmuse, he joins Joakim Noah and Tyson Chandler as the only Chicago Bulls players with 20+ rebounds in fewer than 35 minutes since the Dennis Rodman era.
Streak of Bulls
This win was the fifth straight for the Bulls, which now have the best streak in the league and are getting closer to the Eastern Conference first-placed Brooklyn Nets, with only one game behind.
In the last five, the Bulls scored more than 110 points in all of them. Take a look at the five past numbers from the Chicago Bulls below:
- Chicago 115 @ 110 LA Lakers
- Houston 118 @ 133 Chicago
- Indiana 105 @ 113 Chicago
- Chicago 130 @ 118 Atlanta
- Atlanta 117 @ 131 Chicago
The offenses are working a lot. The Bulls and the rival are combining for 227 points per game in the past 10 challenges, and in the last four, the numbers were even high: close or bigger than 250 points.
Considering all the 32 games played, Chicago had the 8th better offense, with 110.8 points, and are the 12th in assists, with 23.9, but only the 27th in rebounds: 42.8 per game.
Still without Lonzo Ball and Alex Carus, the stars solved the problem in the past challenges. Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan are leading the team in the season, and f course, adding the center Vucevic make them with one of the strongest paint in the NBA.
DeRozan has 26.8 PPG (5th in the NBA), followed by LaVine, with 26.3 points, and Vucevic, with 15.8 points and 11.2 boards.
On Friday 31st, the Bulls will play the last challenge in 2021. They will face Indiana Pacers, which come from five wins and five losses and are in 13th Conference place. On Bovada, Chicago should have some odds for winning the game.
