Braga vs Brondby for the Europa League qualification match on Thursday at Braga Municipal Stadium.
Braga leads 4-2 in aggregate against Brondby and begins Thursday’s second leg as the big favourites to advance to the next round of qualifying in the Europa League.
Statistics suggest that we will see both teams score again this week, but favour a win for Braga, who have the best team and have the advantage of playing at home.
Braga came from behind in the first leg and led 2-1 at half-time and, despite recovering early in the second half, secured victory with two dramatic goals in extra time. The placard was perhaps a little unfair to the hosts as they had 55% of general possession and more shots on goal during the ninety minutes.
The form and performance of both teams in recent weeks will ensure Braga’s victory, and both sides will score on Thursday as the hosts have won their last two games and lost just one of their previous six in all competitions, while Brondby lost three.
The strategy of attacks and defences of both teams points to goals scored on both sides of the pitch on Thursday. Both have scored in the last two games (Braga) and in five of the previous six games of Brondby, with the big difference that Braga won both games and Brondby lost three of them.
I’m confident Braga will win, and both teams will score on Thursday and probably a 3-1 result. Braga was fortunate enough to score four goals against Brondby in the last matchday, with two of them arriving in extra-time, but with the home advantage behind, we expect more goals from Braga.
My bet is V1.
