Astana vs Partizan for the Europa League group match on Thursday at Astana Arena Stadium.
Astana and Partizan are two of the teams that are part of the Europa League group L. They share a group with Manchester United, a great favourite for finishing group leader, and with AZ Alkmaar.
The match between the two teams will be played on Thursday, and neither has won their first match of the competition. Astana lost by the minimum to Manchester United and Partizan drew 2-2 at home against AZ Alkmaar.
Last season Astana managed to be the champion of it’s country’s local tournament for the fifth time in a row. Astana failed to qualify for the Champions League because lost in qualifying against Cluj.
At home, the team is fierce. Partizan has even avoided goals in seven games this season when playing at home.
They have been managed since March by Savo Milosevic.
This is the sixth time the Serbian team has played for the Europa League, so they must be more than used to this kind of scenario. Last season they passed the group stage but then fell to Victoria Pilsen.
This is the first time the two teams have met in their history. In Astana’s past, they have never faced a Serbian club.
It must be a reasonably balanced game with no clear favourites. Therefore it should not be decisive for Astana to play at home. They have also lost three times in the last six games.
Partizan’s impressions are better than their rival’s this season. Although their statistics do not speak well of their performances as an international visitor. In 15 games, they have won only twice and have three draws.
That is why the best bet is that both teams will score, as they should take advantage of some mistakes made by their rivals during the 90 minutes.
